About the Role

Position Overview
Under the supervision of the Facility Director of Addiction Recovery and in collaboration with multidisciplinary team, this position formulates and implements group interventions in the area of substance use treatment to improve a patient’s success in completing treatment requirements.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
May conduct or assist in the screening and/or assessment of patients who are referred for addiction services (if license or certification criteria is met)
Collaborate with treatment team to monitor and review patient treatment plans; may assist in development or review of treatment plan (if license or certification criteria is met)
Assist in orientating new patients to treatment by informing on rules and policies of treatment
Facilitate psychoeducational treatment groups utilizing approved curriculum
Administer patient urinalysis testing in accordance with policy
Enter clinical documentation into Electronic Medical Record System (EMR) and maintain patient records in accordance with federal, state, and department policy
Responsible for attending weekly and/or monthly staff meetings to discuss patient care and all aspects of treatment
Awareness of crisis intervention and response- recognizing emotional stress and utilizing resources to resolve problems and refer to other departments as appropriate
Proactive in performance improvement activities as demonstrated by participating in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program (peer review; record reviews; membership on the CQI committee as requested) and modifying clinical practices based on CQI recommendations
Continuous training in areas relevant to practice or in areas of need, attendance at seminars, continue earning CEUs
Comply with all facility and company policies, Federal and State laws, regulations, and guidelines including HIPAA, OSHA, and PREA
Maintain and adhere to code of ethics including ethical commitment to ensure confidentiality within the limits of a correctional environment
Understand and comply with safety and security rules and regulations of the institution
Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Work is usually performed in administrative or clinical settings and travel may be required on occasion
Must possess general good health and retain sufficient stamina, agility and visual and auditory acuity necessary to perform all duties required. Physical activity includes walking, climbing, standing, and sitting.
May be required to work throughout a large facility, grouping of facilities, or travel between multiple facilities
Potential exposure to internal and external hazardous materials, including but not limited to: blood and blood borne, droplet, and airborne pathogens, infectious/communicable diseases, and physical injury from patients

Requirements

Education/Credentials/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services field required OR Associate's degree with a current CADAC II certification.

  • Hold an active license in an Indiana behavioral health field (LAC, LSW), a valid certification of Certified Alcohol and Drug Consultant (CADAC II, IV, or V), or eligible to apply and obtain an approved license/certification within 24 months of hiring date

  • At time of hire or during initial onsite training, must show/obtain current tuberculosis documentation, must be appropriately certified in first aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) / Basic Life Support (BLS), and automated external defibrillator (AED) use

  • Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable

About the Company

We are currently partnered with a company to provide premium Addiction Recovery Specialists to work onsite in various IDOC facilities in the state of Indiana. We are looking for people who have a passion for helping individuals who are currently battling or have previously battled substance use. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a human services field and the willingness to work onsite with incarcerated populations.
